Starting at Schlesinger Studios in the days of Termite Terrace. Writer Mike Maltese worked for a variety of directors such as Tex Avery and Friz Freleng before settling into Chuck Jones animation unit in 1948. Over the following decade the team of Maltese and Jones produced some of the greatest classic cartoons to come out of Warner Brothers studio. This sketch by Mike Maltese was given to animator Willie Ito as concept. And reference for lobby cards and publicity art. (see the last photo for a pic of final lobby card not included). Willie Ito also worked in the Jones unit and was given the opportunity to illustrate publicity art for the theatrical shorts it produced. Rendered in graphite on 12 field 2-peghole 12 ” x 9.5″ paper.
