Purple Rain Test Press. I was given this in the 1980s by a friend who worked in the music business. I never played it at the time, as I bought a copy. I got rid of my record player years ago so its never been played. The numbers scratched on the vinyl read 925 1101 A 1 420 S /925 1101 B 1 420 S. The cover and inner sleeve are almost like new. This is an incredibly rare piece of Rock & Roll history and an ultimate must have for a true Guns & Roses fan. This is an original Sterling Sound Acetate Test Pressing of the smash hit Paradise City by Guns N Roses from their breakthrough album Appetite for Destruction. It is dated 9/25/87, the year it was recorded. It was not released as a single until January 1989. What makes this piece even more interesting is that Paradise City was released on Geffen, and was only on Warner Bros. I have not seen another one of these out there. I have played this record ONCE. The previous owner believed it to be unplayed. It is in EXCELLENT condition. Were dealing with a record here, it is not digital. As with any record of this age there may be the slightest of surface noise in quiet spots (intro/fading) – also please note test pressings may be a slightly different version of a song or mix from what was the final release. As with most acetate records, wear may appear on the outer edge of the record. There is the SLIGHTEST bit of wear as shown in photos. It looks and sounds PHENOMENAL.
