Truly a great & rare Production Cel from Warner Brothers. Great piece of Warner Brother’s history & a collectible with awesome display quality! Hard to beat Bugs Bunny, let alone in this format. This is #218 of only 500 issued & professionally framed by Warner Brothers. It shows Bugs raising his fists as if challenging the the much larger & tougher looking Mugsy and Rocky. We have a few more from this private collection featuring Bugs. The frame and plastic cover are in very nice condition, but not perfect shape at over 20 years old, just a few minor scuffs to frame and plastic cover. No blemishes effect it’s appeal in our opinion and of course the print and Cel cover are exactly as they were when professionally framed in 1997 or earlier. Hand Painted Limited Edition Cel Created by Virgil Ross. This limited edition cel was inspired by such classic Looney Tunes cartoons as “Bugs and Thugs” and “Bugsy and Mugsy” (both directed by Friz Freleng). This image, created by noted Warner Bros. Animator Virgil Ross, captures bantam-weight Bugs as he “puts uo his dukes” to the pugnacious pair known as Rocky and Mugsy. This limited edition cel began with a drawing by noted Warner Bros. The master charcter line was then hand-inked onto an acetate sheet (or “cel”) along with the Warner Bros. Masters Collection / Virgil Ross gold seal. Each cel was then expertly hand-painted on the reverse side. The original background was reproduced using the lithography process on acid-free paper. In the final step of production, the edition number was hand-inked on each cel in an edition size of 500. This is the only unsigned Virgil Ross limited edition, and was completed and produced after his death in May of 1996. The artwork comes custom matted with 100% acid-free matts, ready to be inserted into a frame. The artwork has an image area measuring 16″ x 13″ inches (unframed), and is accompanied with the studio certificate of authenticity. We are an AUTHORIZED Studio Gallery! All sales are final.
