FIRST PRESSING - Eddie Hazel Games Dames and Guitar Thangs - VERY RARE
One of the greatest (and most elusive) records in the Parliament-Funkadelic empire. The Holy Grail of Funk. Eddie Hazel’s only solo-effort released during his lifetime is an extraordinary collection of funk and guitar-centric songs featuring legends like Bootsy Collins, George Clinton, Bernie Worrell, Gary Shider, Billy “Bass” Nelson, Tiki Fulwood, Jerome “Bigfoot” Brailey and backup vocals by The Brides of Funkenstein. It is tha bomb. The album is so rare that the TV show HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET made a whole episode centered around the theft of a character’s copy. And this particular item is one of the nicest I’ve ever put my hands on. First off, the record: No visible scratches, labels are clean, no warps. Play-tested on my top-of-the-line turntable. No skips, no pops. Just the occasional crackle expected from vinyl. The sleeve: It’s got a small punch hole in the top right corner, which caused the slightest bend, some corner wear in each corner, a slight bit of rubbing on the top edge, and the faintest trace of ring wear on the bottom, but I say all of that is because I’m so picky and precise. Absolutely no fading or surface wear. It looks like it’s just been sitting in someone’s collection for 40 years unplayed. I’ve provided extreme close ups so you can really see how minor the wear is. I’m happy to answer any questions on this. The item “FIRST PRESSING – Eddie Hazel Games Dames and Guitar Thangs – VERY RARE” is in sale since Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
